It may be caused by the constant vibration of the broadband sander at work

That is most likely from the splice on a worn belt. Put a new belt on and run it again.

What kind of tracking does your sander use? Could be from the oscillation of the top belt carrier. Try dialing back the air pressure on it if it uses an air cylinder. It could snapping too hard back and forth.

If changing the abrasive doesn't work, you may have an out of balance contact roller. But something looks odd in your photo. The frequency of the scallops looks really wide for it to be paper or contact roller, unless your feed rate is very, very high. How far apart are the waves?

Solved! Air controlled tracking was going too fast and paper worn as well so 2 reasons it was looking like crap.
I think I have to get the main calibrating roller resurfaced as its an old machine.
Thanks all

Dave, give us an update if you get the contact roller recovered & balanced. I only know of one place that does it, I think it's in the midwest. I had explored getting it done but was looking at a 3-4 week down time so bought a new contact roller instead.
