I have had a CNC for a few months now. I used Cabnetware for years but I just couldn't stomach the 15-20 grand they wanted for screen to machine. I hate to lose the investment but I just can't justify that for a $80,000 tool.
I have been using Mozaik for and getting by with it but I still don't love having to bounce in and out of sketchup. I can do most of what I need to but it seems like tech support will get back to you some time in the next few years if you send them an urgent email telling them that you are down and the router won't work without help.
I am seriously considering Cabinet pro and am very impressed with Frank but I hesitate to buy without some kind of trail to make sure that I like it. The online video and demos are alright but I see many negative posts and guys who have dumped it and moved on.
Anyone using Cabinet pro right now willing to give me some input? How is tech support when you need help (both with the annual update and without)? Also what do like and hate about the program? All the stories I see have me a little scared about wasting my money.
What about KCD, or any other suggestions.
I don't want to feel like I bought a new pickup with tires that go flat every 100 miles because it saved money.
I have seen cabinetsense but importing DXF files is cumbersome and seems like going the wrong way.
Thanks for your input in advance.
