Hi Jay, this problem seams perplexing since the glue nozzle is designed to apply glue not scape it off. Was the technician a Holz-Her guy or just a generic tech? Why I ask is some people can not get there heads wrapped around how the nozzle applies glue, I can not imagine any of the Holz-Her people or even independents that actually know the system to not be able to figure it out quickly. Did the technitian teach you how to clean the nozzle properly without scratching the gate inside and the wire brushing of the nozzle?
The glue is kind of pressed into the core of the panels so I can not imagine even if the application station was worn out at the back end it would still fill in the panel and look more like being applied with a putty knife instead of the series of flats and beads that it should look like.
Is the glue station heating up to the proper temp for the adhesive? Using a thermal gun on the nozzle not just the correct temp on controller.
This type of applicator has its own quirks, top, bottom and end glueing all the way to the edges without to much on panel but have not heard of this problem.
What does a adhesive test without trying to apply tape look like?
