lid hinge

i am building a window seat for a customer that will have a flip up lid. What hinge is anyone using for a chest lid? I have used piano hinges in the past but this lid will be 3/4 plywood so i don't want to screw into the edge of the plywood. I could biscuit some solid wood on the edge to screw into.
I saw some pics where it looked like they were using frameless cabinet door hinges.
thanks for any recommendation

I always surround the lid with solid wood. I use a piano hinge and I put a support board under the hinge so the hinge itself isn't what is supporting the weight of people sitting on it. Haven't had a failure yet.

Thanks for the response Leo.
Thats what i have always done also. I thought maybe there was something new or different out there. I will use the piano hinge with support under it.
Thanks....nicko

Last time I did this, I used full overlay euro hinges in combination with a Sugatsune soft close lid stay. This allows for the lid to rest on all 4 sides of the box with no additional support needed. I did also edge the plywood lid with solid.

I like to use full overlay hinges and pneumatic struts. Been working well for a while.
