Blum aventos bi fold doors for upper cabinets
9/23/16
I'm in process of starting a kitchen that will be using Blum aventos bi fold doors on a few upper cabinets. Ceiling height is 95" and upper cabinets are 33" tall with 18" backslash height. This leaves
8" from top of cabinet to ceiling. So I would have (2) 16-1/2" high doors bi folding to make total height
of 33". It looks like doors go above top of cabinet using the aventos system but I can't tell how much clearance I will need. I don't want doors to hit ceiling. Any feedback appreciated.
Thanks,
Al

We use Hafele's "Free Fold" for this application as we prefer it over the Aventos. Using the Hafele Free Fold you would need about 6" of clearance.

Al, you do need to allow for the right clearance. Ask your sales rep for a blum Aventos book and there will be a formula that you can plug in your door dimensions to determine the clearance you need. Or get on their website and find the downloadable version of that book. We use the Aventos and it is a very smooth system.
