Pantry Pullout Details
A couple of photo examples of tall, narrow pullout pantry shelf units, and some thoughts on materials and hardware. May 26, 2011
Question
I have a narrow (12-15", frameless) pantry to build, and am looking for suggestions for a full height, door mounted pullout unit to use. Any input is appreciated.

Here is a pantry I built several years ago. It is built from 3/4" melamine. If I did it again, I would use 1/2" melamine (weight). It has two sides with adjustable shelves. The adjustable shelves have a 1.5" tall lip that keeps items from falling off.

This looks good. What did you use for the slides? Top pullout looks like a conventional full extension ball bearing slide. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I got the pantry slide system from either Rockler or Woodcraft - can't remember which. I think it is made up of three slides - one top and two bottom. The bottom's take the load and top keeps it from tipping over.

The proper pantry pull out slide is KV 8000 undermount pantry slide. It works well. I make mine with 1/2" Russian birch plywood.
