CNC Vacuum for Veneer Bagging

A CNC vacuum has plenty of power to clamp glue-ups — even on the side. January 3, 2012

Question
Do any of you use your vacuum hold down on your flat bed CNC for vacuum bagging or glue ups? If so, what's your setup?

We have resorted to this method on several occasions. Not much setup involved at all - just glue up and cover with plastic. I use a membrane material that has a lot of elasticity. Try to eliminate sharp corners.

We have a vacuum frame table and a small electric pump for it. Since our router runs all day we have tapped into its vacuum line for the vacuum bench. The bench doesn't take enough vacuum away from the router to affect it. You ought to see how fast a 40hp pump pulls down a vacuum bag!
