I am working on a project using a CNC, unfortunately a hobby level CNC shark, to cut very dense, glue saturated, maple laminate. I am having trouble maintaining good cut quality with every bit I have tried. I was looking for links or contact info for high quality bits or contact information to speak with a bit specialist?
thanks,
NED

Thank you for the recommendation Michael
James,
I understand that my equipment is not ideal for my intended results... I am looking to upgrade. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am looking for a machine that can run 8/10 hours a day and maintain a high quality rresult. Is the brand the problem or is it simply the specific router I am using? My material never exceeds 12" x 50" x 2". For this reason I want to aviod buying a machine with a large cutting area.
Thank you,
NED

NED,
When you look to upgrade, the minimum I'd look at is a ShopBot Buddy. This should handle the workload. If you're a DIY kind of guy, you can get much more bang for your buck over at cnc router parts .com
Either way, have fun!

Sorry I did not post with the intent of Recommending a replacement yet I am known to have one at this level of machine. Both Micheal and I have CAMasters and I believe Mike had a shark before that, I tried the Carvewright so I know what it it like to get into this.
that said, yes the Shopbot buddy is a very capable machine, CAMaster sells the hang out of its stinger models, they are overbuilt with heavy iron construction like the larger cobras and are know for the industrial quality Bearings, controllers and equipment which make them a major player in this size CNC. take a good look feel free to join the forum ( www.camheads.org ) come on in the new members section and tell them who you are and what you want to do,, you may find quite a few who have been there !
