Listing #929   Listed on: 09/27/2009

Innerwood started in 1990 in 6,000 sq feet and by 2004 we were in four buildings totaling 17,000 sq feet. Midyear 2004 purchased 35,000 square foot facility with 12,000 in offices and showroom and balance shop. We did many layouts for new space looking at processes and material flow and worked with Eberhard Reyer of Lignum consulting to assist in layouts. The old shop had several indoor bag type collectors and was generally dusty and we wanted a cleaner work environment so we put in a Dantherm 20,000 cfm outdoor collection system complete with ecogates now the shop air is cleaner than the office air.

Company Description Continued

Our clients were constantly asking for us to do kitchen and bath cabinets and in 2005 had decided to venture into that area. In 2007 a friendly competitor had a major fire and lost production capability. We offered them space and equipment use in our new facility and after six months decided they liked it so much offered to sell the remaining assets work together so we picked up 29 years of kitchen and bath experience. We do our finishing in side downdraft spray booth with heated air and bake cycle and spray with Kremlin air assisted airless. We plan to add a flash tunnel and sanding booth in 2010.

Business took a major dive in late 2008 and 2009 and our usual work dropped by 80%. We diversified and became contract manufacturer for a line of teak outdoor furniture.
