Southwind MillworkListing #1609 Listed on: 05/22/2015Member Our circumstances are a little different from your average stateside shop likely. I employ people from Haiti, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and local Turks Islanders. We produce fine work from raw materials - hardwoods and veneers imported from South Florida. I started building wood yachts when I was 20 years old and worked in the yacht industry for ten years or so before moving to the Turks and Caicos Islands in 1983. We've been in business on this tiny island for over 30 years and cultivated a high-end clientele over the years with an appreciation for quality woodwork. At this point multi-million dollar homes are popping up on a regular basis and we continue to be challenged by creative architects, interior designers and clients themselves from all over the world that ask us to create custom doors, internal cabinetry, staircases etc. |
