Founded in 1965 by Pius Bernhard, a German Master-cabinetmaker, Bernhard Woodwork continues in the tradition of fine European crafted woodwork using the most modern tools from our 100,000 sq foot plant located in Northbrook, IL. We take pride in controlling all aspects of the project in-house from veneering through finishing and installation to maintain quality. Bernhard Woodwork has grown into a national company with clients that includes unique projects such as luxury yachts, the largest department stores in the world, and homes featured in Architectural Digest.

Bernhard Woodwork, Ltd. employees stay for decades and the firm remains committed to passing on its craft to the next generation of cabinetmakers through an extensive apprenticeship program. AWI and CNA insurance honored Bernhard for being the safest woodworking shop in the United States for the second year running in 2011 and 2010.

Bernhard Woodwork is certified “Premium” grade quality by the Architectural Woodwork Institute Quality Standards and is a Women’s Business Owned corporation (WBE).
