Dickson Saw Works

Listing #346   Listed on: 01/18/2011

Dickson Saw Works is a family owned and operated sawmill and rustic furnitire company. Dickson Saw Works has been in business around six years. My father and I started the business as a means of extra income for our families. The end of 2010, my dad,Chris Dickson took over all operations of the mill.
We are located in East Tennessee, just north of Chattanooga. Our mill operates mainly as a mill on demand operation operating a minimum of 3 days a week depending upon the volume or orders. However, we are looking to expand into several other markets in the coming year.

Specializing in custom sawing, our mill supplies the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas with rough cut red and white oak, poplar, and pine. DSW will custom saw our logs, or yours (delivered to our mill). We can deliver your lumber to your job site.Delivery charges will be applied.

DSW also had expanded into the furniture buiness offering a unique line of handmade rustic furniture and craft items. We feature oak benches, stools, and tables. Our specialty is beautifully finished Cedar benches, plant stands, and porch furniture. This new venture for DSW began as a hobby for my father, but has proven to be a rewarding and profitable outlet for he and my mother.

Our goal is to supply you the customer with your specific lumber needs as at a fair price with the upmost in service.

I have five white oak and hickory logs I would like sawn to 4/4. The logs range from about 5 ' to 8' and are about 12" to 16" diameter. What would be a ballpark cost to saw?

Thanks,

Good morning, I'm interested in knowing if you could or would cut down roughly 50+ pines. Each average, 24"x70'. I estimate 15,000+ board feet using the Doyle method more with International. Your company can have the lumber for doing so. Call me if interested, or if you know of someone. Thanks,706-944-0407; Ringgold

I have a leyland cypress logs that we have cut in 12' lengths. I would like to have these cut in 2x6 boards and 4x4 to make a 12' harvest table. Is this something you do. Also I have a popular that needs to be cut because it is too close to my house. I would like to either sell the lumber or trade for cutting it down. It is approximately 75' tall and over 50 years old. Very large.

I'm completely on the other end of the scale from the other posts I've read. I'm doing repair work on an old closet and the builder of the house didn't conform to standard dimensions. I need to find a way to buy a 12" X 9' board to replace the shelf . The width of the end isn't a problem but places like Home Depot top out at a length of 96" ( 8' ). Can you help?
