Is this (hard) Maple the food safe equivalent of our NZ Kaihikatea which we use for bread boards and rolling pins and was in olden days milled for making exported butter boxes in the days NZ was the bread basket of England?
Maple is definitetly food safe, as is every other hardwood species in Eastern North america, as far as I know.
The Butcher Block is wonderful..
may I ask where I might find the plans.
