This is a 15' wide, 7' high double driveway gate constructed of ipe. I built in in three layers. The front and back layers are mortise and tennoned, gate-shaped frames. The middle layer has a 1"x3" steel frame layed into it. The joints in the middle layer are offset to the joints in the outer layers. I used West System epoxy as the adhesive. Every joint is mechanically reinforced with pegs, stainless bolts, or screws. This gate was installed 4 years ago and is holding up well. The joints look good. There are some surface checks.
