Company Name: JDO CORP.This is my personal kitchen I built in my unfinished basement/shop as I built my home. It is made of PC maple with a wiping stain and a glaze. It is complete with the exception of some light rail in which I have not yet completed. I had alot of fun building my own kitchen yet I had forgoten how much work and time cabintry takes. I have been out the business for a while. Building this project reminded me of how much I enjoy wood working. I sprayed it with pre cat laquer with a groco pressure system which I had to take out of retirement and the counter tops are just laminate for now, I aplied a wood edge of pc maple and finished it the same as the cabinets but soon plan on replacing with some type of man made quartz. $$$

Nice job. I like the doors. I get more and more customers that want that glazed frenchy look.
I have been succesful ,so far at talking them out of it,but everytime I pick up a design mag the cabinets have that kind of finish.I guess it is only a matter of time....... How difficult was it?

Gordon,
The finish was relativly simple. It is just a wiping stain, two coats of pre cat, then vandyke brown glaze, and a final pre cat coat.

If you don't mind, could I asked if the Island turnings are turned by yourself or commerically available. I'm presently doing a client's kitchen remodel and the turnings add much to the look.
Great job.
Thank you,
Ron

DIY then iam sure this will be a great help to you all and maybe you will become a skilful individual who will embrace such challenges which me and my hubb did and believe it that we are very new to this challenge but we have learnt a great deal about this work and thoroughly enjoyed it as well.

I'm interested in knowing what machinery you used in your basement shop to create such a good looking kitchen. The reason I ask is because I'm in the middle of setting up my own shop with similar aspirations.

I used to do cabinetry and countertops for a living so I pretty much have a full blown shop down there.
edge bander, line bore, table saw etc.
