Drafting Technician – Cabinetry & Millwork
Burmeister Woodwork Company has been creating unique interiors for some of the finest homes in Wisconsin and Illinois and beyond for more than 80 years. Specializing in architectural millwork, the company manufactures the very highest quality custom cabinetry, stairways and millwork in the industry.

We are looking to add a talented Drafting Technician to our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the parametric modeling of custom cabinetry and architectural millwork and be available to work from our headquarters in Hales Corners, WI. A background in cabinetry or millwork would be optimal. We offer competitive compensation based on experience and the opportunity for career growth.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with clients and design teams to understand project requirements.
• Create detailed technical drawings and 3D models using Cabinet Vision, AutoCAD and other CAD software.
• Utilize Cabinet Vision to optimize cabinet design workflows and ensure accurate specifications.
• Develop accurate and comprehensive cutlists for production teams.
• Select appropriate materials and hardware for each project.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Revise designs and cutlists based on client feedback or production constraints.
• Maintain organized records of all designs, cutlists, and project documentation.

Qualifications:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, and other CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
• Understanding of woodworking and cabinetry design principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to create accurate cutlists to streamline production.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience with Fusion 360 or CNC programming is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, explain complex technical details, and present ideas clearly.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook and Adobe Reader/Creator.

Work Hours:
Full-time salaried position; standard business hours of 7:30am until 4:30pm Monday – Friday. Overtime available on an as needed basis.

Compensation
• This is a full-time position with an immediate opening
• Hourly $25+ based on experience
