Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for day-to-day operations.
-Effectively lead and develop the Managers, Team Leaders, and staff to achieve productivity , employee development, on time delivery, safety, and quality goals.
-Direct, monitor, and improve operations of the plant including supervision of staff; equipment maintenance, resolution of problems, material availability, work priorities, quality, schedule/deadlines, communication with other work teams and recommendations for improvement to processes, morale, teamwork and safety.
-Motivate staff to ensure all deadlines are met, focus on winning people rather than disciplining people.
Translate the company’s goals into departmental goals and communicate so they are understood by all levels of the operations team. Incorporate accountability into each step of the process.
-Resolve work problems and make recommendations for improvement.
-Confirm shop schedule and delegate daily assignments to shop personnel.
-Communicate job requirements, expectations and deliverables to employees.
-Enforce company procedures, processes, standards and policies.
-Mentor team members and conduct performance reviews.
Direct / dispatch material flow in a way that all assembly components are flowing together just-in-time at the stations needing them in correct quality and quantity.
-Ensure availability of proper materials and tools are available to complete projects without lulls in workflow.
-Each station should have a target of 1 shift of production buffered (ready to produce) at all times, minimum of ˝ shift.
-Material should be pulled and staged for production at least 5 days in advance with a goal of 2 weeks.
-Work closely with purchasing to maintain shop inventory, shop supplies as needed.
Overall responsible for Outgoing Quality Control.
Recommend and manage plant layout changes as necessary to improve flow, efficiency, safety or other observations as needed.
Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment. This includes correcting unsafe acts/conditions, facilitating daily/weekly/monthly safety meetings, performing safety inspections, and investigating accidents, as required
