JOS2079 Engineer - NJ
Starting base salary: $70-100K


Summary
We are seeking a skilled Engineer to join our team. This role involves preparing and updating detailed digital drawings for projects, managing CAD data, and coordinating with production and installation teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in AutoCAD, CNC machine code, and a strong understanding of woodworking technology.

Responsibilities
Create detailed design documentation and specifications.
Utilize AutoCAD software to develop detailed shop drawings.
Assist in the selection and research of materials for products.
Read and interpret architectural drawings and bid documents.
Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Recommend work sequencing in conjunction with the Production Manager.
Develop innovative ideas and alternatives to be cost-competitive where possible.
Maintain good communication with clients to ensure drawings meet or exceed expectations.
Provide technical expertise to the project execution team throughout various project phases.
Participate in hand-off meetings to ensure the team has a complete understanding of the project, production schedule, and installation requirements.
Maintain notes, design calculations, and other documentation (e.g., drawings, bill of materials, design parameters, performance guarantees) in electronic files.
Revise and Update Drawings: Collaborate with the Project Manager to revise and update existing drawings, ensuring consistent documentation of the project.

Requirements
Minimum of three years of experience in reading and interpreting architectural plans and specifications to produce accurate shop drawings.
Thorough understanding of woodworking technology, including CNC, edge banding, doweling, and clamps.
Minimum of three years of experience with AutoCAD and associated tools.
Familiarity with Microvellum software is a plus but not required.
Experience in sending code from AutoCAD to CNC machines.
Experience in commercial millwork.
