Position: WOOD FINISHER
Department: Production

Purpose of the Position:
The Wood Finisher is responsible for bringing artistic visions to life by ensuring that every piece of custom wood furniture and cabinetry meets the company's standards of quality and craftsmanship.
By ensuring the flawless finishing of custom wood furniture and cabinetry, the Wood Finisher plays a vital role in the final appearance and quality of our products, directly impacting customer satisfaction and the company's reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
Finishing Application: Apply finishes to custom wood furniture and cabinetry using gravity spray guns, custom wood stains, and paints, ensuring a flawless final product.
Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks to ensure all finished products meet or exceed company standards. Address any defects or imperfections promptly to maintain high standards.
Tool and Machinery Utilization: Utilize gravity spray guns and other woodworking tools and machinery in the finishing process, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
Collaboration: Collaborate with the woodworking team to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate finishing tasks and timelines.
Learning and Development: Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in wood finishing techniques. Participate in training sessions and demonstrate a willingness to learn new methods and processes. Receive feedback and constructive criticism from the Lead Finisher and others, understanding it is aimed at continuous improvement and professional growth.

Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in finishing, with a background in woodworking, conversion varnish application, paint shop operations, or car body finishing.
Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
Attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.
Proactive attitude and eagerness to assist team members.
Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Reporting:
This position reports to the VP of Operations.

Working Conditions:
Frequent standing, lifting, and handling of materials.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in a workshop setting.
