My first log I've cut with my homebade bandsaw mill.

It has a few bugs that I need to work out but all and all I'm happy with the way it's working so far.

Congratulations on your first log! I kept waiting for you to either throw a blade or saw into a clamp, but you did good. It will go a lot faster & more smoothly with a little experience.

I did good I think. I didn't wreck, and the blade stayed on and the mill seems to work not to bad considering it was built outside with a few hand tools..

Congrats on a huge accomplishment making lumber on a homebuilt saw! I'm going to recommend getting a guard system on the mill as you WILL break blades and they can leave those wheels in any direction at lethal speed! Safety first and have fun with your milling.

Awesome saw,at least put a fender/scatter shield on it for your own safety.

Nice job. Would be nice if you could attach a winch or something like that to pull it through the log, or even a crank. I have a nice 20" dia ash log sitting in my driveway right now that needs a machine like that.

Okay, today I am planning on putting on some blade guards. Good idea about having something pull the carriage. Maybe I'll try a winch

I sold it back in 2006 when I sold my place. The people wanted the sawmill also.

My mill is kind of like the Turner I had but with the capabilities lacking from it.

It looks a little unsteady on it's legs. Are you not running on a v track? I didn't watch the entire video, so apologize if you show the tracking. I'd also like to see that adjustable guide a lot closer to the log if it were mine. Nice job though, you'll have a blast.

Rich,it does look like its unsteady some what. It has v wheels. I have added saw guards and it seems to help with less unsteadness now. I plan on adding power feed pulling from both sides which I believe will cure the unsteady problem. Here is my latest video of the sawmill.
